Open Studio Summary

Posted by Leah on Jun 5, 2006

I just finished the first weekend of Open Studios. Thanks to everyone who came, it was great meeting you, and I hope to see more people next weekend!

The Southwestern Voodoo jewelry, and my resin pendants in general, seemed to be the most popular items this year. In fact, I’m almost out of Southwestern Voodoo pieces, so I’ll try to make a few more between now and Saturday. If you’ve visited my site before and are wondering what I’m talking about, yes, I know, there are no pictures of my resin jewelry up! I’m working to fix that. Resin is tricky to photograph, but I think a few of the pictures I took at Open Studios will come out well enough to share online.

People also were interested in my freeform wirework - especially the pieces that incorporated woven wire and fused metal.

Some people wondered why there weren’t more paintings up, (I share a studio space with my husband, who is an acrylic painter) so I told them about Chris’s show at Cafe Roma in Berkeley.
