Great New Jewelry Book
Posted by Leah on Jun 27, 2006
I just got a copy of Joanna Gollberg’s new book, “The Art and Craft of Making Jewelry” (Lark Books, 2006).
Her earlier book on metal crafts is pretty good, especially for beginning metalworkers, so I’ve been looking forward to seeing this new book. I haven’t had time to read it, but just flipping through and looking at photos and subject headings, I love it already.
It appears that there is a lot of information on everything from basic skills anyone working with metal should know to more advanced techniques including marriage of metals and granulation. But it isn’t a dry, text-only technique book - every page has pictures, and there are gallery sections that show pieces illustrating the techniques described in the previous section. Some really inspiring metalwork is featured in this book!
Now I just have to wait for my local book store to get Arline Fisch’s new book on crocheted jewelry…
