I was wondering how someone get an entire piece say covered in resin, do you just dip the piece in or do you pour layers at a time, one side at a time? I like to use clay as my back ground and put an item on top and then cover with resin. But its so tricky to get the front and back covered...HELP?

I usually just work next to an open window - the fumes should dissipate within a few minutes. When my resin pieces are setting up, I keep them in closed containers so I can keep working on other projects. This also prevents dust from sticking to the surface while the pieces are setting.

Hi! I just started experimenting with resin and I'm worried about the safety issues
although I've been wearing the respirator and gloves. Was just wondering how soon can I
re-enter the work room without any respirator on? Is 24 hours after working on resin good
enough?

I don't know of a book specifically about that, but there are a lot of magazines about mixed media jewelry. I think Belle Armoire has published some articles about photo charms - they always have good articles about mixed media art.

Hi! I just started experimenting with resin and I'm worried about the safety issues
although I've been wearing the respirator and gloves. Was just wondering how soon can I
re-enter the work room without any respirator on? Is 24 hours after working on resin good
enough?

I was wondering how someone get an entire piece say covered in resin, do you just dip the piece in or do you pour layers at a time, one side at a time? I like to use clay as my back ground and put an item on top and then cover with resin. But its so tricky to get the front and back covered...HELP?

I usually just work next to an open window - the fumes should dissipate within a few minutes. When my resin pieces are setting up, I keep them in closed containers so I can keep working on other projects. This also prevents dust from sticking to the surface while the pieces are setting.

I don't know of a book specifically about that, but there are a lot of magazines about mixed media jewelry. I think Belle Armoire has published some articles about photo charms - they always have good articles about mixed media art.

Is there a book you recommend that covers photo charm making with resins or epoxy?
