At the suggestion of a helpful person on twitter, I went to the Ace on San Pablo Ave in El Cerrito to find tiny drill bits – what a GREAT hardware store! I’d been there before for other tools and lightbulbs and things, but I didn’t fully appreciate just how nice of a store it was before.

Not only did they have drill bits in sizes from 61-80, which none of the other hardware stores I’ve tried had, they were accurately sized like the diamond bits I get from jewelry supply stores.

But here’s something even cooler – I got a drill bit gauge, also with sizes 61-80, so now if I’m wondering which size bit I need for which wire size, all I have to do is poke the wire through progressively smaller holes til it won’t fit, and that’s the bit I need. This will save me having to look it up every time!
