I just got an awesome sample in the mail from artbeads. It’s a 38 mm Swarovski crystal disc bead in a color called copper. YUMMY!

Copper Swarovski Disc
If you are familiar with beads, you probably have seen necklaces made with stone discs (sometimes called donuts) as a centerpiece, maybe with something dangling down, and either chain or a strand of beads going around the neck. Now imagine that same necklace, but with a super-sparkly Swarovski crystal instead of the stone – that would be an attention-getting necklace.
I’m making a very simple necklace with my bead, because it is so pretty on its own that I don’t think it really needs much embellishment. Plus, I think my designs usually work better when I don’t add too many elements to the mix. I believe that one of my strengths as a designer is knowing when to stop.
Anyway – as you can see – I really, really like this bead. It’s one of those things I might not buy sight unseen because it is pricey for a single bead – but I can see why. It’s big, sparkly, and has precise facets – just like my other Swarovski crystal beads, but much bigger.
I’m not paid by Artbeads to review these products – except that I get to keep the sample – in this case, totally worth it.
If you want one of your own, they come in several sizes and colors here Here’s a link to all of their Swarovski crystal beads, they have many others besides the discs.

I totally agree! With your design choices…pick an element (for my next knitting project it is the neckline) and make it stand out…

Aly, I’m testing out & reviewing products for them occasionally. This was my very first review! I’m not sure what their criteria are for selecting people to review samples.
