Kirstie – I’ll write more about my methods, but basically, I don’t solder, all my torch connections are fused & I use either argentium or fine silver instead. Argentium is sterling but a little of the copper in the alloy is replaced with germanium, and it just makes it work a little bit differently. It took practice, but now I can do most things that are normally done with solder without it. I think it helped that I hadn’t done a ton of torchwork with regular sterling before I started using argentium.
